Texas roots.
Coastal stories.
A curious imagination.

Meet Scarlet Calder
Scarlet Calder writes romance tangled with mystery, paranormal secrets, humor, and plenty of chemistry. A Texas author with a love for photography and just about anything involving the water, she feels most at home somewhere between a camera, a coastline, and her next story.
Scarlet has loved reading for as long as she can remember, but books took on a new importance during a particularly difficult season of family life. Reading became a way to step away from stress for a while—getting lost in someone else’s world and simply breathing. That experience eventually helped inspire her to create stories that could offer readers the same kind of escape.
A longtime fan of ghost stories, haunted houses, and all things Halloween, Scarlet has always been fascinated by the possibility that there might be more to a place—and its history—than what we can see. It’s probably no surprise that ghosts eventually found their way into her fiction.
When she isn’t writing or reading, Scarlet is usually creating something. She loves photography, crafting, and adding sparkle and bling to anything that looks like it could use a little more personality. She’s married with three children and shares her home with four dogs—a pit bull, two pug-mix siblings, and a Chihuahua—plus one very loved outdoor cat who remains outside in the interest of keeping the furniture recognizable as furniture.
Her debut novel, Salty Spirits, brings together many of the things she loves: Texas coastal atmosphere, romance, buried secrets, restless ghosts, humor, and characters who have a remarkable talent for finding trouble.
